Collaboration offering

Contract research
Contract research means delivering commercial assignments—a form of collaboration between a company and a research institution that provides fast-turnaround solutions, ranging from multi-day tasks to complex projects lasting several months.
Contract research is research performed by a research organization on a company’s order and involves high value-added services—particularly R&D services, including related consulting.
Innovation vouchers
An innovation voucher is a tool that supports SMEs in the Czech Republic in collaborating with research organizations and institutions. It enables companies to obtain funding for expert services, research, and development to help introduce innovations into their products or processes.
The voucher subsidizes the purchase of services from a research organization, typically in the form of a grant. Providers may include regional authorities or the Ministry of Industry and Trade; the grant amount varies by provider and call focus.
The main goals of innovation vouchers are to:
- Support technology and knowledge transfer between companies and research institutions.
- Help firms enhance their competitiveness through innovation.
- Enable access to expert scientific and technical services that might otherwise be unaffordable.
Examples of successfully completed innovation vouchers
- Research into the effects of a new type of nanostructured lubricants for machining
- Experimental validation of hybrid cutting tools
- Postprocessor and simulation model for the SP430L2 machine and the Siemens NX CAM system
- Modernization and functionality expansion of a laser cutting machine
- Design optimization and identification of suitable operating conditions for small-diameter PCD milling cutters (0.5 to 3 mm)
- Development of software to control a measuring device
- Software adapter for a CNC machine with a HEIDENHAIN control system
- Structural and computational design of a spindle head

Grant projects
We have extensive experience delivering projects across various grant schemes and work with companies to define the goals of collaborative research.
Grant projects use funds awarded to individuals, organizations, or research institutions following application and approval. Grants are typically provided by government agencies, foundations, international organizations, or other public/private bodies to support activities such as scientific research, education, community development, or innovation.

RCMT has led numerous applied R&D projects co-funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in cooperation with machine manufacturers. Collaboration with industry has yielded many successfully realized prototypes and new technical solutions deployed in practice. We work extensively both with machine builders and machine users, serving as an experienced research partner.
Internationally, RCMT initiates or joins EU projects under Horizon 2020 and is active in CIRP (the International Academy for Production Engineering). Cooperation with leading foreign research institutions and companies further develops RCMT as a professional, high-quality R&D partner.
